Two People Killed in Four Car Collision

On Friday, April 10, two people were killed in a four car collision in the Chinatown area.

According to Las Vegas police, the accident happened early in the morning, at around 5.45, when a 2011 Hyundai Sonata being driven by a 23 year old woman was heading west on Spring Mountain Road. She then veered into the oncoming traffic near Lindell road and smashed into a 2014 Ford Transit Connect cab being driven by a 55 year old cab driver. Following the crash, the two cars went spinning and ended up hitting two other vehicles.

The cab driver had no passengers in his car and he died at the scene while the woman driving the Hyundai was taken to University Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The other two drivers involved in the crash, both women aged 27 and 45 were unhurt.

Spring Mountain was closed from Lindell to Jones Boulevard for more than seven hours, and according to police these were the 31st and 32nd traffic-related fatalities in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
