Toddler Dies in Fatal Crash

On Wednesday afternoon a toddler was killed in a fatal crash on a ramp to the Summerlin Parkway westbound.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 4 p.m. when a single vehicle was travelling on the U.S. 95 northbound ramp which connects to the westbound Summerlin Parkway.

NHP went on to say that the driver started up the ramp and entered the paved shoulder. He then steered to the right and the vehicle spun and entered the opposite shoulder and hit a barrier wall. It continued to spin, while travelling backwards and then overturned and slid along the road.

There were three people in the vehicle, a 46 year old driver and two children. The two year old, Alden Shi from Las Vegas, was thrown out of the car and pronounced dead at the scene, and a 12 year old girl together with the male driver was taken to UMC. They were both released after treatment.

NHP has said that following an investigation, charges may be filed.
