On Saturday, June 16, three people ended up in hospital after a three vehicle wreck in downtown Las Vegas.
According to Las Vegas police, the incident occurred around 8.30 in the morning on North Pecos Road, south of Stewart Avenue.
It appears that a 17 year old male was driving a 1993 Honda Accord at high speed north on Pecos. He approached Stewart and crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a 2007 Mazda CX7 which was being driven by 68 year old Sharon Edmondson. Both vehicles then hit a 2008 Ford Taurus which was being driven by 51 year old Doel Rojas.
The teen fled on foot but was caught shortly after. Edmondson was severely injured and Rojas moderately so. The boy said he was also injured when he was caught and they were all taken to University Medical Center.
The accident is still under investigation but it is expected the teen will be cited.
