Just before 3.00 a.m. on Sunday a 34 year old woman was heading north on Mountain Vista Street when she hit the east curb and then drove onto the sidewalk around Carol Circle, near Russell Road,
She then swerved back onto the road, hit the center median and crossed into the lane where traffic was traveling in the opposite direction.
The woman then drove off the west side of the road, hit a light pole, a water main box and a block wall at a home on Carol Circle. The truck rolled over and the woman was partially ejected as she was not wearing a seatbelt.
She died at the scene but her identity has not yet been released nor have the police announced any potential causes for the crash which is still under investigation.
This is the 43rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction in 2014.
